Publisher's Summary

She just wanted to meet a movie star.

Kitty Kole, nicknamed Pity, is a music teacher and divorced mother of two teenage girls. The busy, impulsive gal loves movies; in fact, she’s a fanatic. In the week preceding her annual Oscar party, Pity manages to become a stand-in for the leading actress in a new movie being filmed in Tulsa. She is ecstatic about her luck, but soon, things turn tragic when Pity’s fellow stand-in is killed in what appears to be a freak accident involving a replica of the iconic Golden Driller statue. Pity believes it was murder and vows to find the killer.

Along with Pity’s silly mishaps on set, she deals with an unwanted admirer, a horrible school principal, and her ex-husband’s annoying girlfriend. All isn’t bad, though, as she happens to fall into the arms of one of the most famous actors in America. Luckily, the goofy gal has the support of family and friends throughout. But can Pity survive her own unconventional investigation techniques?
