Excellent narration by Scacchi
A lovely story focused on characters (especially Anne) and their lives, foibles, and desires, set in England past with it’s well defined rules of etiquette, society and custom.
Scacchi reads it perfectly with great effort at distinguishing voices.
The only slight annoyance is that this version for some reason has the occasional long pause. Don’t know if it’s in the narration or recording.

How could one give fewer than 5 stars?
The wonderful Jane Austen, appreciated even more at my more advanced stage of life, the novelist who established the right to be given adulation for the last two centuries.

Very Enjoyable Rendition of Persuasion
Superb story by Jane Austen. Wonderfully performed by Greta Scacchi. Loved it. Throughly recommended.

Loved rediscovering my favourite Austen novel
Persuasion has always moved me and was a great choice for my first audiobook. Would highly recommend.

The voice of Greta Scacchi ‘s reading and wonderful characterisations is pure gold.

Amazing narration
The narrator does a great job of giving different voices to the various characters, but also manages to convey emotion and even some personality through those voices. She also does well in parts to build suspense or emotion through the tone of her narration generally, which really helps you enjoy the story. Loved it.
