About this listen
Claire Barclay, owner of a mystery book tour company, collects three women at the Manchester airport who have flown in from Tucson, Arizona, then starts on a tour of Yorkshire and the sites of mystery novels. She meets the rest of the tour in York: two British couples and Phillip, a single man.
Claire has scheduled stops at sites of interest, starting with the York Chocolate Factory. Here, in pursuit of Phillip who will not stick with the tour, she finds the body of a security guard. She cannot see any connection with her tour and leaves York, driving the group up on the moors and stopping at the famous Ralph's Cross where moorland stretches for miles. Here, her American ladies report the sudden death of Phillip in the surrounding bog.
Detective Inspector Mark Evans, a friend of Phillip's and Claire's significant other, investigates. Mark tells her Phillip worked for Scotland Yard and was on the trail of a drug distribution scheme. Claire is determined her Tucson ladies will not be dragged into the murder inquiry or any other police investigation, but they are determined they will. They are intelligent, expert mystery novel fans, and observant. They precipitate Claire and themselves into a confrontation with the murderer.

Great listening!
I’m enjoying these characters. I’m hope we get another instalment soon. The narrator is very easy to listen to and the crime’s satisfying. I’m loving the tours themselves and the ladies who visit.

They just keep getting better!
I approached this audiobook with some trepidation. The first book in the series (Hazards in Hampshire) was a good way to start the series. The second (Crime in Cornwall) was, no more than a tourist guide with a crime tacked onto the end. However, this, the third book, was excellent, combining tourism aspects and a storyline then wove them together into the main body of the narrative. There are two more books in the series, sadly not available on Audible (yet) but I look forward to listening to them.
Credit must also be given to the narrator, Bianca Amato, whose voice is so right for the stories. Her diction is precise but has a warmth that draws the listener in and wanting more.

My booklist has got longer!!
Thoroughly loved all three books available on Audible, can’t wait for the fourth book to become available.
I have made note of the many other murder mystery books noted throughout the series and look forward to reading/listening to them in the future.
I enjoyed the narrator’s voice, great at bringing all the different characters to life.
