About this listen
Janey is 18 and living in a small flat with her baby daughter. Just as her new life starts to show promise, her past catches up with her.
Nicole is renting one of the new luxury flats. She’s just walked away from her husband and teenage sons, tired of being treated as a servant, suspecting her husband of having an affair.
Winifred has lived in her large family home for over 80 years but it’s all getting too much, though she doesn’t want to leave.
Things are not what they seem, and danger can strike both rich and poor. The trick is to survive it, and for this you need good friends and courage: all freely available in Peppercorn Street.

Pleasant
An enjoyable story which dragged a little, but was interesting enough to stay with it.

great book would recommend
I love the narrators voice and all the accents she can manage and picked this book for that reason. The story was great and I enjoyed the characters, with the exception on one. Nicole. She was basically very selfish. Her 15 year old was talking less; her husband had a personality transplant and her 17 year old is showing signs of violence so she leaves home. doesn't bother to find out WHY any of those things were happening and just leaves them to it. All because they wouldn't do the dishes! There were other things that annoyed me about her but don't want to spoil the story for anyone. Give this book a go, it's great.

I am a huge Anna Jacobs fan this book was brilliant. It was entertaining with the depth of characters in this story and gave the listener a story encompassing generations/community. I loved it. Best one yet and would love this to be a series as the characters are expandable. Narration was phenominal. Brilliant!!!
