About this listen
Careful, exacting and ruthless, Wyatt is a consummate criminal and a solitary giant in Australian crime writing.
This time it’s a payroll and bank run in the north of South Australia, an outpost town suddenly transformed by a pipeline construction project that brings petty crime, prostitution - and opportunity. It’s a town with its own secrets, and Wyatt isn’t quick to trust at the best of times. But he’s on the run, and he can’t afford to be choosy.
This is another masterpiece of orchestration and unravelling, anchored by an unforgettable ticking-clock sequence that will keep you listening. Fans of noir and hard-boiled fiction will find a fascinating extension of the genre.

Drama continues where the 1st book finished off.
Book 2 continues with danger and tension around every corner for Wyatt as he continues to find trouble and continues to wriggle his way out of it and back in again. Great story again.

Unfinished
Story/plot felt unfinished. Came away needing greater ending satisfaction. I assume the next book picks up where this doesn’t quite end.
