About this listen

The brand-new crime thriller from Sunday Times bestselling author, J, D. Robb.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer

On a hot August night, Lt. Eve Dallas is called to a downtown club, where a joint bachelorette party full of love, friendship and laughter has taken a darker turn and ended in a crime scene. One of the brides has been garroted in a private room and lies dead in a pool of blood.

The brutal murder scene was just seconds from the packed dance floor but despite the dozens of people present, useful witnesses prove hard to come by. Someone must know something but no one is talking.

On the surface the two brides had a supportive, tightknit group of friends but when Eve starts to dig below the surface she discovers that everything may not be quite as it seems....©2010 J. D. Robb (P)2024 Hachette Audio UK

The Twist

As usual the story was riveting and the twist was intriguing. JD Robb continues to amaze and enthrall.

Apt theme for today's bigoted world.

Love this series, and how the narration is so unchanged from the first books. Great emphasis on how the author wrote the book. Susan Erikson rocks, almost as much as Eve Dallas does.

Another solid book in this series

given that this series has around 50 books in it there tends to be some overlap or repeating of themes however really the only repeat was the location and I thought that this acknowledged well. I enjoyed the book greatly

Slower than expected.

Found this a bit slow with no tension or excitement.
Sad about who dies but I enjoyed the TWO possible killer angles.
We get a bit of the big house project and some good time with the gang.

The series needs a shake up!

I love the In Death series, but it is losing its interest. It’s now too repetitive and predictable. The characters aren’t being challenged or growing. It really needs a big shake up.
