About this listen
For Mark Caldwell, an unsatisfying life was about to take a turn both terrifying and exhilarating as his fate took an unimaginable turn.
When Mark took his aisle seat aboard United flight 4382, he was ignorant of three facts. The fellow passenger in the window seat was named Joseph Colsco. Neither of them would ever set foot on Earth again. They both would be cast naked on an alien planet.
Adapt or die. Those were the choices. Determined to grasp the chance at a second life, Mark plunges into an adventure he couldn’t anticipate and leading to a future he can’t predict.

A different perspective
Different perspective from an earthling that was also affected by the plane crash. Absolutely love the story and the narrator's voice. That cliffhanger though... don't like that as much haha
Excited for the next book in this amazing series!

One of the best in the series yet.
I really enjoyed this one. I thought the series might be going stale, but I was wrong. Loved it!

Pretty much the same MC different place.
This is the sixth book of the Destiny's Crucible series. Here we get away from Joseph character and follow another survivor of the doomed flight. We also get some world building.
This follows the story of Mark, a navy engineer who got sent to the alien world of Anyar. The book is book feels like it is broken into segments and is focused around one man's exploits across several years. I can’t go into the passing without spoiling the book.
If you already read the first books you know about Thorensen's style, plot structure, and the world of Anyar. This book adds to the world of Anyar and gives us a different hero to cheer for. While Joseph and Mark start off very similar to one another. But since both men landed on different parts of Anyar and you see how something as simple as geography changes their personality.
Seriously. At the start, I thought we were doing a recap. That is how close Joseph and Mark are as main characters.

Great
Loved the book
Probably more on reflection at the time I kinda knew where it was leading too and was impatient but well paced and super informative. I’ve a feeling the detailed descriptions of the planets peoples this book facilitated will come into its own in future installments.
Narration was good as always with Mr Davis and I like a longer book so
5🔆 from me
