Both Argo and Raine have left Jessica behind to search for their missing stablemate, the Palomino Trent. In the wake of an accident Jessica finds herself broken and battered and at the mercy of fate until the missing Trent returns. She discovers that he had been limping home through the countryside using a makeshift crutch after a fall had ruined his leg.
