Great series!

A lovely series of dramatizations. Beautifully clear with excellent but not intrusive atmospheric sound effects.

Well done

Loved the performance and stories ( written by a master of the genre)and although I’ve read most hearing a presentation such as this is great entertainment. However it’s very annoying not having the information about when the individual stories begin

Great stories, well performed.

Great cast and well performed. My only gripe is the constant whistling in the second story...its like fingers down a chalk board.

Enjoyable something different. Excellent.

Along time fan .enjoyed the words comming to life Courtesy of the BBC.
The interviews at the end of the broadcast were a bonus not only enlightening but a insight into the author herself her life , and her writing.

Lazy afternoons on the sofa

What a treat. These dramatisations of PD James books are just the ticket for a relaxing afternoon stretched out on the sofa. Great performances from all the cast. High quality production as you expect from the BBC and a final treat to hear from James her self in her own words. A great buy highly recommend!

Excellent production

Characterisation fascinating, acting convincing. An altogether entertaining listen. Would have liked more of Adam Dalgleish.

Varied quality

It's hard to rate this collection as the quality of both the writing and casting varies greatly between stories. I found The Private Patient particularly disappointing. A radio dramatisation can never have the depth of detail of a full novel, however judicious selection of what is included and excluded, tight dialogue and appropriate casting can give it a new dimension. I'm glad to have listened to this collection once but won't be going back for another listen.
