About this listen

For twelve years, the virtual world of Yggdrasil has served as the playground and battlefield for the skeletal lord Momonga and his guild of fellow monsters, Ainz Ooal Gown. But the guild's glory days are over, and the game is shutting down permanently. When Momonga logs in one last time just to be there when the servers go dark, something happens-and suddenly, fantasy is reality. A rogues' gallery of fanatically devoted NPCs is ready to obey his every order, but the world Momonga now inhabits is not the one he remembers. The game may be over, but the epic tale of Ainz Ooal Gown is only beginning... Adventure Epic Epic Fantasy Fantasy Fiction Humorous Science Fiction Comedy Game

For those who weren’t aware the overlord novels are rather distinct from the anime’s portrayal and is absolutely worth exploring. Tho the audiobook doesn’t include the light novel’s overlord esc images, the novel nonetheless takes well to the audiobook format. Having this novel narrated is also great for retention, the book being fairly verbose.

On another note the narrator is Chris Guerrero the same guy who does the English dub for Momonga which results in instant familiarity for anyone acquainted with the anime and is great. However one point of detraction is that the voices of other characters especially the female cast is not as distinct.

Awesome

I can honestly say that having these novels read by the same voice actor as the anime was the best touch. the novels are more detailed than the anime and are fantastic! just.... *chef's kiss*

everything I could have hoped for

A little slow paced compared to the anime but the world building makes up for it. the voice acting is on another level. Definatly one of my favorites on this platform.

Superb voice acting!

As an Overlord fan, this audio book was a grateful surprise: the delivery from the actor was excellent (I think he is the voice of Ainz in the english version of the anime), which made the story even better. Highly recommended.

Excellent rendition of the story
