About this listen

A futuristic love story that will leave your heart aching. It's a few years into the future, and a chemical spill in the middle of the ocean has taken over the waters of Earth. The entire planet is dying off, but that doesn't stop its inhabitants from turning it all into entertainment for themselves. People go on sea cruises in flocks just to see and pay a sick homage to the beautiful appearance of the deathly water, another side-effect of the spill. Cruise ships take people to enjoy the beautiful, boiling colors, and it seems no one cares about the destruction before them. Tripp Young hates that his parents take him on these trips, but this time around he finds a distraction: A beautiful girl named Heidi Collins. They watch as their fellow passengers enjoy the sight of the hue-filled pollution which has taken over the waters. While his parents, and the other passengers, indulge their sick preoccupation, he tries to make the best of his time on board. Tripp and Heidi discover the depths of their own hearts as they deal with several terrible repercussions of the doom progressing all around them, and they can't help but fall in love in the middle of the despair. But chances of ever seeing each other again are slim, and the futility of the situation is heartbreaking for everyone involved. The young pair find true love, knowing that it will end as soon as they dock.
