Publisher's Summary

At 40, Lan Davis is looking for his damned picket fence and two point five kids. What he doesn't expect is instead of a wife in the picture, his mind keeps conjuring up images of two men. One, his partner in the force, who is as straight as they came, the other an ex, who he'd hurt but never forgot.

After an incident leaves Lan injured, the two men rally around him...only maybe they shouldn't have. It seems a medicated Lan is a truthful one.

Parker Wilding is pissed at the world. His anger builds when his partner refuses medical care after an attack. Instead, Lan entrusts his neighbor to take care of him - a guy Parker doesn't trust. While he's aware they share a history, when the past is revealed, the truth shocks the hell out of him.

Being emotionally crushed ten years ago, Easton Ravel hoped he would never have to see the man who broke him again. Hope is a fickle bitch. And now he's not sure how to handle being face-to-face with the man he once loved. Add in the mix the annoying, testy Parker, and Easton finds his limits are pushed.

Just not in the way he thought they would be.

What happens next sure does come out of the blue.

Contains mature themes.

Good story, frustrating narration

I enjoyed the story enough, there were some moments that recaptured me as I was kind of losing interest.
The trouble is with the narration. There are 3 MCs and the narrator that did 2/3 of them (Antony Ferguson) doesn't do a distinct enough of a voice to distinguish between the different characters he's doing.
Joel Leslie did a great job as usual. He does an amazing job at performing each character differently.

Great story, just leave it all to Joel!

I enjoyed the storyline and Joel Leslie did an amazing job as usual. Pity about the other narrator (Anthony Ferguson), his voice for Easton made him sound like a whiney kid which was made me cringe especially during the sex scenes... Joel could have done all three main characters.

misogynistic bad cops

His woman, a woman, my woman, the women, their woman, the sl*t, the b*tch... I know men exist who think like this but I didn't want them to be 2/3 of the MCs. The audio which was set on different volumes between chapters was difficult to separate the characters. Add in the inconsistencies in some of the intimate scenes and I'm leaving a bad review which I almost never do. Be prepared to suspend disbelief to extreme levels if you read.

Coming to terms within yourself.

It's not listed as such here but this is definitely part of the Hawks MC serise.
I love that they are all versatile with out it feeling forced. The narrators were alright but they were at different volumes so I had to keep turning the volume up and down throughout. Not a big issue but definitely irritating.

Great story but frustrating audio

I enjoyed this book, however was frustrated by the audio. What was frustrating was that each narrator read chapters, so the voices were different depending on the narrator for the chapter. I found this very irritating. I enjoyed the story - I love the MC who accept differences and work with outsiders, and enjoyed the MMM relationship.

Nice Aussie humour but pretty unrealistic!

It’s been over ten years since Easton Ravel was hurt when his friend-with-benefits, cop Lan Davis, acted as if they didn’t have a relationship in front of Lan’s cop partner Parker Wilding. Easton has moved towns only to find Lan is his new neighbour—awkward! This time Lan is determined to treat Easton right and the two form a strong relationship. However, Lan has always had a thing for Parker and under the influence of strong pain medication, he makes a move on Parker, who is shocked but intrigued. Is there room in the relationship for three? Meanwhile, Easton’s scheming father tries to entrap him—can Parker save the day?

This was ostensibly a standalone second-chances / thruple romance, but there are so many secondary characters and events mentioned from other MC books that can be hard to follow at times. I liked the Aussie humour in this a lot but it didn’t feel real: I find it hard to take most motorcycle club romances seriously and this club was full of caring, sharing, sensitively understanding, but jarringly misogynistic, people—it didn’t work for me. Easton’s family drama also didn’t feel real, it was OTT melodrama. Voice actors Joel Leslie (US) and Antony Ferguson (UK) attempt Aussie accents with varying degrees of success but both were bearable (currently free on the Audible Plus catalogue).

Steamy MM three sum romance

My first Lila Rose audiobook won’t be my last. Very good writing and the characters are well crafted by Ms Rose. Joel and Antony do a good job with the Aussie accents.
