John le Carre excels. Again.
The subtlety, the nuance, the development and revelation of the characters, the description of settings whether landscapes, streetscapes, offices or buildings, and the wild Caucasus; all are superbly evocative.
I would recommend this book to someone who would enjoy becoming lost in it, who can follow an intricate evolving plot. A patient connoisseur reader.

Brilliant.
LeCarré’s prose is second to none. His turn of phrase and use of metaphor envelops you and draws you deeper into the story until the lines between the it and your own memory blur into vivid synergy. This book is brilliant and the reading is exceptional
