About this listen
Dr. Wilfred B. Icove himself has been found dead in his office - murdered in a chillingly efficient manner: one swift stab to the heart. Struck by the immaculate condition of the crime scene, Dallas suspects a professional killing. Security discs show a stunningly beautiful woman calmly entering and leaving the building: the good doctor's final appointment.
Known as "Dr. Perfect," the saintly Icove devoted his life to his family and his work. His record is clean. Too clean for Dallas. She knows he was hiding something, and suspects that his son, his successor, knows what it is. Then - like father, like son - the young Dr. Icove is killed...with the same deadly precision.
But who is the mystery woman, and what was her relationship with the good doctors? With her husband, Roarke, working behind the scenes, Dallas follows her darkest instincts into the Icoves' pasts. And what she discovers are men driven to create perfection - playing fast and loose with the laws of nature, the limits of science, and the morals of humanity.
Crack another case with Eve Dallas.©2005 J. D. Robb (P)2005 Brilliance AudioCritic Reviews
"Susan Ericksen brings enthusiasm to the eclectic cast of characters, offering a unique voice to enliven each one. Her rendition of Lieutenant Dallas as a brash, yet secretly sensitive woman is likely to resonate most with listeners." ( AudioFile)

Brilliant, heartbreaking story
Once again JD Robb writes an amazing book.
Roarkes family come for Thanksgiving. Crack makes a small appearance. This is the book that future books are made from

BOOK REVIEW
One of my favourites but also such a sad story.
I really loved how this one plays out.
You cannot help but support and agree with why these men are killed. I gave them no sympathy.
Creating clones, all females, designer made to be sold or utilised. Married off, used as sexual toys, placed into high positions of power or simply to be tools.
All for the egocentric ideas of a man. Yes, there is more than one man behind the atrocities performed and enacted but it is their male thinking and beliefs that what they are doing for mankind is right and just. Pure insanity how they envisioned this playing out in the future.
We even had some young male clones made into soldiers, purely killing machines.
Man playing god again, OR AS Eve calls it, SELF MADE GOD, it will never end. So sad that humankind behave like this.
On the other side of this sadness, we have Roarke stressing out over his family from Ireland coming for thanksgiving.
And Eve shows why she truly is the best at what she does.
Eve and Mira go toe to toe in disagreement, Eve gets a Trina treatment, which is always funny. A few of the regulars pop up, including Crack, who I just adore.
Some good fun bits of humour are scattered about.
Dochas is called Duchas at one point. Bad proofing by someone who obviously hasn’t read previous books.
I have read all of these books twice or more already as I own most in paperback and am slowly collecting the kindle versions too when price is reasonable.
I am rereading this series once more, updating and replacing missing reviews.
