Den Wandler, der nun ihr Gefährte ist, hätte Ida sich eigentlich niemals ausgesucht. Wie alle Wandler ist sie allerdings froh, dass die Mondmagie sie überhaupt mit einem Gefährten beschenkt. Die Anziehung, Liebe und Vertrautheit, die zwischen Gefährten üblich ist, fehlt jedoch komplett und die beiden müssen schauspielern, damit bei den anderen Wandlern keine Fragen aufkommen. Zu allem Übel verspürt sie eine Anziehung zu einem anderen Wandler. Das ist etwas, was bei einem Gefährtenband überhaupt nicht möglich sein sollte.

Ida nimmt sich vor, sich von diesem Wandler fernzuhalten. Da er aus einem anderen Rudel stammt, sollte das eigentlich kein Problem sein, doch er sucht ihre Nähe und bittet um Hilfe bei einer Angelegenheit, die sie nicht ignorieren kann. Im Gegenzug verspricht er ihr, herauszufinden, was mit ihrem Gefährtenband nicht stimmt.

Zwei Wandler, die sich verbotenerweise zueinander hingezogen fühlen, wollen ein Problem lösen, das es eigentlich nicht geben dürfte ... ob das gutgeht?
