About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
From the author of the million copy best seller One Day in December, comes a brand-new love story.
One cottage. Two strangers.
Every great love story starts somewhere....
Cleo writes about love stories every day. She just isn't living one of her own.
When the editor of her dating column asks her to marry herself on a remote Irish island - a sensational piece to mark Cleo's 30th birthday - Cleo agrees. She's alone but not lonely, right? She can handle a solo adventure.
Cleo arrives at her luxury cabin to find a tall, dark, stubborn American who insists it's actually his. Mack refuses to leave, and Cleo won't budge either. With a storm fast approaching, they reluctantly hunker down together. It's just one night, after all....
But what if one night on the island is just the beginning?
Following Cleo and Mack through heartbreak, self growth and friendship, One Night on the Island is an uplifting and immensely moving love story for fans of The Holiday, Lucy Diamond and Jojo Moyes.

I nice easy read
I nearly gave up on this book early on as I didn't like Cleo's character. I found her quite annoying. I'm glad I persevered, as the story got better quickly. Lovely feel good read.

Absolutely beautiful
I adored this beautiful book! The characters, the journey to self love, the romance and heat but also slow burn. Perfect paced and so well written. Highly recommend.

Perfect
The whole self-coupling concept was a bit bizarre, but in the context of the whole book, actually made perfect sense in the end. Chloe's journey to Salvation Island, the connections she made along the way and the inevitable self discovery and self love was exquisitely narrated. This will go on my "listen to again" list.

Beautiful story
Pleasant read on how to escape from real life, highlighting how important it is to be (selfishly) happy before being able to build relationships.

Loved the narrators, didn't love the story
One Night on the Island follows Cleo, a single dating columnist from London, and Mack, a photographer and separated father of two from Boston. Both are visiting remote Salvation Island and both happen to book the island's one lone lodge for the same time period. Starting off as enemies in a divided home, it doesn't take long for the pair to break down each other's walls and fall into "micro-love."
I really like Josie Silver's writing, but One Night on the Island, unfortunately, didn't meet my expectations. I started by reading the e-book but 10% in I was quite bored, so I then switched to the audiobook. While I really liked the narrators, the story never picked up the pace. I ideally wanted more from the plot and the characters. Particularly Mack, who was so torn between his ex and Cleo that it was hard to fall in love with him.

Enchanting narrator
Loved listening to the voice of Cleo, it really made the story and kept me engaged considering the story itself wasn’t my favourite

I enjoyed this book. I loved meeting all the characters and Salvation Island. The journey to self love, the strength of community and making true friends and finding unexpected true love.

You can’t go wrong with Josie Silver! Three dimensional characters that make you laugh and empathise in equal measure. A lovely story.
