About this listen
What changes would you make to your life if you could view it through the lens of a first responder?
One More Light takes you on a journey with veteran firefighter and paramedic James Geering. As each chapter unfolds, the heart-wrenching stories are coupled with a unique physical and mental health perspective about preventing tragedy and unnecessary suffering. It’s about maximizing the wellness and fulfillment of one another. But most of all, this is a book that ultimately leaves you with the hope that, with us at our best, we have a fighting chance to thrive in an uncertain world.

One More Light - A Thoughful Read
I've followed James' social media and podcast, Behind The Shield, for some years now.
His book 'One More Light', is at times hard to listen to because of the graphic, confronting accounts, but is brilliant nonetheless.
Read by James in his natural, calm and easy tone, it conveys the depth of trauma many FR face and feel, while showing James' positive attitude and inner strength.
His point of view is great to listen to: because it backed by experience and truth.
I thoroughly recommend it.

Put down whatever book you're reading
Should be on all first responder messroom tables. interesting, confronting and entertaining in an important way. First responder, military or civilian, there is value for all walks of life and most importantly has a consistent message around mental health. This is a compulsory read.
