About this listen

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of One Day in December by Josie Silver, read by Eleanor Tomlinson and Charlie Anson.

Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn't exist. After all, life isn't a scene from the movies, is it?

But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic...and then her bus drives away.

Laurie thinks she'll never see the boy from the bus again. But at their Christmas party a year later, her best friend Sarah introduces her to the new love of her life. Who is, of course, the boy from the bus.

Determined to let him go, Laurie gets on with her life. But what if fate has other plans?

Following Laurie, Sarah and Jack through ten years of love, heartbreak and friendship, One Day in December is a joyous, heart-warming and immensely moving love story that you'll want to escape into forever.

Gorgeous...readers are going to love it! (Marian Keyes)

Sucked me in and didn't let go. It made me laugh, cry, ache and shout at the characters. Utterly captivating...one of my favourite books (Holly Martin)
A feel-good, heart-wrenching tribute to the female friends we cannot do without, as well as the men that we fall for. Josie Silver is one to watch (Stephanie Butland)

An absolute thoroughly enjoyable read. And if you listen to the audiobook it is so much even more enjoyable because of the narrators. Highly recommend it for anyone wanting a fun, light-hearted read

A realistic and beautiful love story.

If you love 'love' stories, then you will love this but if you're not a big fan of them, well this is a different kind of love story that explores the two main characters, Laurie and Sara's lives over a period of time that makes it so much more relatable and realistic than any other love story I have read. The connection between Jack and Laurie share is beautiful. If you are looking for a storyline that pulls you in all kinds of directions emotionally, yet a the same time keeps you hooked - this is it. Emotional, beautiful and real.

Could not stop listening!

Absolutely loved this story.. getting out of the car at work was such a struggle each day!
I think my favourite thing about this audio book was the narration from both Eleanor and Charlie. It made it so much easier to fall in love with the characters and their stories hearing it through their perspective in two different voices.
Was so sad for this story to end!!

Absolutely adored this book

Loved this so much! Not the most original story line and not exactly heavy hitting literature, but so lovely and so charming! I listened to it in that funny period between christmas and new years and it was the perfect read, I really did enjoy it so much.
The narrators were also both great - such easy listening and I felt like they were not just 'telling a story', but that they really embodied their respective characters.

Really pleased I persevered

At thev beginning I thought the story line was improbable with a chick-lit feel and I was going to leave it. But I loved the narration and persevered, until about half way through when I read all the rest in one sitting,, at times with tears. While I have mixed thoughts about the first chapters and its predictable ending, the super narrators brought the characters to life so well I had to find how they played out.. I found them relatable and enjoyed following the roads their lives took and intertwined over a decade.
