About this listen
Wall Street Journal best-selling author Nicole Snow returns with a hilarious office romance where two archenemies who drive each other crazy pretend they're madly in love.
Strange men do funny things when you score the last cinnamon roll. Sometimes he rages about the high crime of jacking his precious pastry. Sometimes he offers you ludicrous bribes to buy it back. And sometimes—after shattering your faith in humanity—you find out he's your new boss.
I'm not laughing.
My sweet tooth betrayed me, and Lincoln Burns is one bad sugar rush. A coldhearted grump. A mile-wide ego. An eligible bachelor who doesn't “do” dating. Did I mention Mr. Congeniality runs a fashion empire with weddings in its sights? Of course he does. And, of course, weddings make me gag after my ex made my heart roadkill.
Every instinct I have screams run. But money talks, and Lincoln's deep pockets roar. One big fat bonus proposal lures me into his world.
Somehow, our vicious fights become vivid flirting. His secrets thrill me in the worst ways.
Then he makes a second proposal. Pretend we're engaged. Smile for pretty photos like we're soul mates. Dress up like we're actually getting married.
Oh, how I wish cinnamon rolls came with warnings.
It's all sticky sweet heaven until you catch feelings for the boss man from hell....
Full-length enemies-to-lovers romance loaded with uh-ohs. Office banter, pastry mischief, slow-burn spice, plus one bossy suit who might stop stomping around long enough to realize he's falling hopelessly in love.

Just kept missing the mark
Disappointed. Although the author is clearly talented, it just kept missing the mark. The overuse of Edgar Allen Poe references really killed the storyline. Who wants to think of Poe in this is type of book? Was the storyline supposed to be lighthearted or dark? Was it supposed to be a literary masterpiece or a lighthearted romance. Either way, I really didn’t want to keep thinking of Poe at every integral part of the book. Poe and his siblings had no children, I thought the 6 times removed grand uncle was a bit of a stretch to inherit his creative talent and disposition for melancholy, It only needed to be said once and not hammered into the reader. Had to skim read to finish the book it got that painful.

Great story
Entertaining story! I love that the enemies part was a good chunk of the story, but I did feel the ending dragged on a bit.
I really enjoyed the book though.

Too long
The story was true dragged out. Went on, and on. The story could’ve been told with half the amount of words.
