About this listen
The sole witness to a horrific crime, Kaylee Ramay flees to the Colorado Rockies to start a new life. There, she becomes Grace, a dog kennel employee desperately trying to avoid attention - especially from dangerously attractive K9 Officer Hugh Murdoch.
Because Hugh is tall, dark...and nothing but trouble.
Hugh is anxious to get back in the field after an act of heroism left him warming the bench. Until then, he and his K9 partner Lexi spend their hours teasing the town's mysterious newcomer. But when their simmering attraction is nearly cut short by a sniper's bullet, Hugh's mystery woman must come clean about the secrets she keeps....
Or both of them will pay the price.

better than the first
This story was better than the first book and wasn't dragged out as much, but I have to say Katie has a penchant for bombs.
This had a better plotline but still had holes. Gaining attention in one chapter was definitely easier than what was written.
I took this book on even though I wasn't truly convinced from book 1, but the loose end from the previous made me want to see if it was eventually tied up. it wasn't!
I still find it extremely frustrating that a police officer isn't interested in the mystery of his girlfriend being solved, which leaned toward against the law.
In this book, the h shows her hand within the first quarter of the book, and at least this police H was interested in digging for the mystery.
I was kept guessing with the antagonist, but it was nice to have a few problems on the go that culminated into the final finale. However, I got a bit confused when everything seemed to be solved and there was still an hour to go? That was a nice suprise.
Then another hole. There were suspicious actions, and I thought the jig was up straight away, but the h didn't connect the dots. It was an eyeroll. But the end part of the book was written the best.
Not a lot of steam in both of these books, but it is nice to have some action more so than hotness.
What is a pet hate of mine ? The male pictured on the book is different from that of the description Ms Ruggle has given the H. I tend to imagine the alpha in the story from the cover, but it didn't happen
Here.
As for Callie, she did a good job, although her tone with the male characters could probably be a bit lower.
