Anthony Fauci M.D.
About this listen
#1 New York Times Bestseller
The memoir by the doctor who became a beacon of hope for millions through the COVID pandemic, and whose six-decade career in high-level public service put him in the room with seven presidents
“An eventful autobiography [and] a classic American story…Gripping.”—The Washington Post
“One of the most consequential and most prominent [careers] in American medicine in the past fifty years.”—Jerome Groopman, The New Yorker
Anthony Fauci is arguably the most famous–and most revered–doctor in the world today. His role guiding America sanely and calmly through Covid (and through the torrents of Trump) earned him the trust of millions during one of the most terrifying periods in modern American history, but this was only the most recent of the global epidemics in which Dr. Fauci played a major role. His crucial role in researching HIV and bringing AIDS into sympathetic public view and his leadership in navigating the Ebola, SARS, West Nile, and anthrax crises, make him truly an American hero.
His memoir reaches back to his boyhood in Brooklyn, New York, and carries through decades of caring for critically ill patients, navigating the whirlpools of Washington politics, and behind-the-scenes advising and negotiating with seven presidents on key issues from global AIDS relief to infectious disease preparedness at home. ON CALL will be an inspiration for listeners who admire and are grateful to him and for those who want to emulate him in public service. He is the embodiment of “speaking truth to power,” with dignity and results.

Authenticity without bias
As a retired Primary Care physician in Australia I discovered Anthony Fauci in the Pandemic. He is respected in the medical community in this country and also by the credible news media.
On Call is an account of his professional achievements, his dealing with significant epidemic and two pandemic events in his 50 year career, but also of his empathy and relationships with all the stratas of the US population.
I can't imagine any individual repeating this.

"On Call" is inspiring
Dr. Fauci is an expert in the fields of science and medicine, who humbly discusses his life and career in his amazing book "On Call". It has been a privilege to learn much about many issues that are normally not publicly presented in a balanced way, such as the prevention and control of pandemics (including HIV/AIDS, Ebola and COVID-19), as well as human side of institutional and political leadership. Furthermore, Dr. Fauci has been successful to highlight the best in human nature. I admire his wisdom and humility and hope that he will inspire many others.

Inspired account of recent major medical historical events
Thank you Dr Fauci for your humble and long service in public health care. It is enlightening to listen to the events at the coal-face of public health issues when remembering them from afar, especially the AIDS epidemic.
What an incredible and inspiring life he has had- I hope the next generation of medical professionals can learn from his leadership and dedication.
Well written and read. It has certainly changed my previously biased opinion of what must be a great human being. Thank you
