About this listen

Darkness seeps deeper into the world. The gods can only watch from afar. Time is running out.

Jim and his friends found a way to stop the evil infesting the leadership of the Empire, but the shadows of the world are not all cast by the demon incursion. There's plenty of darkness already dwelling within the corrupted heart of the Empire.

One of the team goes missing, and Jim has to find them before it’s too late. They have a chance to reach the Western Province before the nox infection spreads, but having the entire team is paramount to their success. They'll have to find a way to come together, or risk the Empire sinking completely into the darkness.

No pressure, it's just the fate of the world.

Redshirts, Rivalries and Repetition

Feeling a lot more formulaic this time round, our intrepid adventurers head onto the high seas to face more Nox and more horrible excuses for human beings. There's still great writing, some fun moments of levity and an interesting and winding adventure (if a little expected and repetitive feeling at times), but the loss of a possibly interesting and new relationship to return to the grind this time around, was a little disappointing for me, here's hoping to a little more light for our MC in the next edition. Oh, and as usual, Travis's narration is excellent!

it was good

I don't get how a popper can kill a Monster supposedly only can be hurt by one type of mana

and a explosion killing powerful person even obliterate them but a shield saves another

the sea voyage part of the story I kept skipping cause it bore me but the rest of the book has it's good moments

and the narrator was superb

Great addition to the series

This was a great addition to the series with more diverse enemies and more fun characters with great progression throughout the book. The voices were great as usual from the almighty Travis baldree
