Publisher's Summary
When 17-year-old Katy Swartz moved to West Virginia right before her senior year, she'd pretty much resigned herself to thick accents, dodgy Internet access, and a whole lot of boring, but then she spotted her hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up...until he opened his mouth.
Daemon Black is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. It's hate at first sight, but when a stranger attacks her and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens. The hot guy next door? Well, he's an alien.
Turns out that Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities and Katy is caught in the crosshairs. Daemon's touch has lit her up like the Vegas Strip and the only way she's getting out of this alive is by sticking close to him until her alien mojo fades. That is, if she doesn't kill him first.
Critic Reviews
"The beginning of Armentrout's new Lux series is a thrilling ride from start to finish. A cross between Roswell and Dawson's Creek, this series is guaranteed to hold your attention and have you begging for more." (Romantic Times)

Not what I was expecting but loved every second of it
I was a bit reluctant to start this series as I didn’t think alien stories would interest me but I have 100% been sucked into the luxen universe

Worth a listen
I wasn't expecting much with this book, given the time period that this book was released and all the other teen paranormal romances that were popular around the time. This was so much better than what I was expecting. I really enjoyed the story, although at the start, I was a little unsure it got interesting rather quickly.
Katy moves to a new town with her mother, who often leaves her alone because Katy is trustworthy. she quickly becomes friends with her next-door neighbour, Dee, despite Dee's brother Daemon being an ass. I felt that the progression of the story was well paced and that Dee and Katys' friendship was really central to it all, although there was a heavy focus on Katy's obviously blooming attraction to Daemon throughout as well. The complications of Dee and Daemon being aliens was intriguing and felt so realistic. I can't wait to read the next one, especially with the ending of this being as it was, I respect Katy so much.

Intriguing
I'm enjoying this series as is so different to so many other paranormal books,
in respect of being about light beings etc.
Looking forward to continuing to next part in series
