About this listen
Journalist Nicole Madigan was stalked for over three years. The relentless and debilitating experience wreaked havoc in her personal and professional life, leaving her trapped in a constant state of fear and anxiety.
Nicole uses her own story as an entry point to examine the psychology behind stalking behaviours and their impact on victim-survivors. Whether by a stranger, acquaintance or former partner, stalking can have a catastrophic effect on a victim-survivor's mental, social and financial wellbeing. At its worst, it can lead to physical violence, even death.
In this timely and compelling enquiry, Madigan explores the blurred lines between romantic interest and obsession, admiration and fixation. Through expert consultation and the personal stories of other victim-survivors, she analyses society's attitude towards stalking and its role in popular culture, while highlighting the failings of the legal system in protecting victims.

So important!
This book is to stalking what ‘See What You Made Me Do’ was for domestic violence. It’s compelling, personal, raw and very well researched. Everyone should read this wonderfully written necessary book!!

Important, informative and capturing read!!
I absolutely loved this book and how Nicole shared her own personal story while incorporating important facts, discussions with experienced professionals and sharing stories from stalking and DV advocates and victims. All while highlighting the serious dangers, impacts and educating us all on the types of stalking and ways to access support.
There is so much more Nicole included and I would recommend this read to anyone, I was hooked after chapter 1.
Thanks Nicole you’re a huge advocate for women, stalking and domestic violence.

Truth writing for the right purpose!
Nicole accurately penned down the constant fear, anxiety, eeriness, feeling unsafe, and the need to stay vigilant from a pathological jealous erotomania who weaponises bullying, gaslighting, stalking, and, in my case, manipulate workplace politics and influence other staff to not speak up to shield evidence from the university. Psychological violence is a crime, and my career is affected. As a victim, Nicole’s research helps me to understand the behaviour and pave forward. I join Nicole’s urge for Australia to follow the Netherlands’ lead in addressing systematic change to reject this obsessive behaviour, starting from law enforcement to creating social and cultural norms of speaking up! Anyone with allegations of such obsessive behaviour, especially in universities, must be conditioned to take psychiatric assessments for help.

Brilliantly written, engaging and informative
I adored this book, as a family lawyer working in DV, I was acutely interested in the topics covered and the authors personal story was interesting and appalling.

A great resource for victim survivors
This was a very well written account of one woman’s experience of stalling but also a source of information and validation for others going through a similar situation.
