About this listen
Navy Captain Wes Masters, newly posted to head the White House Medical Unit, is a physician with only one patient, but her job is twenty-four/seven. Her charge is simple - protect and preserve the well-being of the most powerful man in the world - the President of the United States. As the First Physician, Wes must travel by President Andrew Powell's side, in the hot zone, and with everything she needs to save his life, or in case he becomes injured or falls ill. Her job gets even harder when she has to prove she is up to the task to Secret Service Agent, Evyn Daniels, a member of the elite Presidential Protection Detail, and a woman who challenges Wes on more than just the professional front...
Evyn isn't happy about inserting Wes into PPD, especially since Evyn believes the post should have gone to her good friend, Dr. Peter Chang. The stakes soon get even higher for all involved, when Homeland Security's Deputy Director, Cameron Roberts, is brought in to investigate a possible security breach, and everyone, including Evyn, is a suspect.

Oath of Honor is the third book in the First Responders series by Radclyffe. Combining personal drama with political realism a la "The West Wing", this audiobook is the story of Captain Wes Masters, first physician to the fictional president of the United States, Andrew Powell. As if the high-stress job wasn't enough, social rivalries and romantic intrigues break out within the Presidential Protection Detail. This couldn't be good for the President's safety….
Betsy Zajko's expressive voice has a smooth, silk-like tone, allowing listeners to really digest each detail of the prose.

Moves alongside Cam and Blair
Entertaining side plot to the Cam and Blair story and part of their series. Features associated strong women characters, the President’s doctor and security agent. Plot moves along while ‘bad guys’ gain impetus in their fanatical desire to kill the President.

Cooked to fast with the wrong ingredients
After listening to Radclyffe’s books narrated by Abbey Craydon it’s disappointing to listen to a narrator that doesn’t bring the characters to life with the same depth and personality. I loved the relationship between Blair and Cam prior to this but with this narrative there’s nothing there. And Betsy’s vocal range also makes the love making scenes feel it’s lesbian sex as seen by a straight woman. Also missing was Abbeys ability to give each character their own voice. Betsys delivery made most of the characters sound do alike it made the book dull.
And…. Radclyffe should spend more time in the setting up of her character’s bedtime encounters because they are all supposedly professional women - not male politicians who get an erection every time they’re alone with a young female aide!!!! Honestly if the main characters were this stricken with fantasy in real life our forces would be in serious trouble.
