About this listen

The gifts were innocent…at first.

After a traumatic assault, Hannah Novak returns to her home-town hoping for a fresh start. However, when strange gifts turn up on her doorstep, and a stalker fixates on her, she discovers that Blackbridge isn’t the safe haven it once was. With no family left to turn to, she’s forced to seek help from the broody new cop in town. Ryan Kilpatrick has travelled across the country to create a stable home for his young son, but being a police officer makes that hard. He doesn’t need Hannah’s problems added to his own, yet her courage and vulnerability awakens the protector in him. With time running out, can Hannah learn to trust again before it’s too late? Because this time, there are no second chances.

Great story

I really enjoyed this story, it had me engaged from the first chapter. The narration was good and the suspense in the story was great. Highly recommended.

fuest listen to claire. nice town story with a few twists

haven't listened to Claire before but being a West Australian, like the author, I wanted to try.
I enjoyed the description and world building, the setting was perfect for the area the plot was set in.
I'm a bur of a military action listener so this was a but tame for me even though the turns the antagonist took was clever and kept me interested.
I thought I'd worked it out only to find another red herring. so well done Claire.
there was depth of emotion that had me empathising in the right places and then wanting me to disagree in others.
the pace rolled along nicely and we had a tad of steam and some romance but what stood out was friendship and loyalty among friends.
I had never heard Cathy narrate before, but she dud really well. the Australian accent was as natural as can be and there was enough tone to differentiate between characters.
great story, great ideas, great narrator
