Set during the bushfire season of 2019 and into the coronavirus pandemic, sex work is the constant backdrop of the story as it moves between Sydney, Berlin, Orange and Bellingen. Exploring the interplay between your external and internal world, the fluctuations of mental health and the way in which emotions shape the pace of your thoughts, ultimately it is a rejection of romantic love, celebration of queer community and a reckoning with the body as both abject and joyous.

Loved it
Such a different perspective on a topic I'd rarely heard about. Her writing is beautiful, spiralling from the gritty present to esoteric, lavishly written digressions and tangents. such a talent, and such a love for Australia.

The best book you will ever read
I read this and listened to the audiobook together, Tilly is a clever, powerful storyteller who feels like an old friend. With this book and her voice you will never feel alone.

Powerful story!
Was deeply touched by the story being told. The writer (She also narrates it, INCREDIBLY by the way!) is so smart and self-aware, and it's like listening to a friend, which makes it hard to hear the things she's had to go through in her life.. I just wanted to hug her 💜

Just beautiful!
If I had any of the talent Tilly does for writing I’d write a wonderfully poetic review, but there are no combinations of praise I know that will do this book any justice! More books please Tilly! The world would be better for it xx

absolutely loved it
I worked as a sensual masseuse in new Zealand. Although I don't share as many negative parts of sex work, maybe because I was always ''on top' of the person while massaging and didn't let people enter me, I do realte on many levels. This book is so brave and real, your thoughts have such depth, they touch me. I couldn't wait to continue listening to you. thank you!

Hauntingly Beautiful
Tilly has the ultimate gift to convey obscure, multifaceted isolated experiences in a way that has a universal sensibility. That ability to cut through and take a reader along for the ride is pure, gritty magic.
