Truly the most irritating narrator in existence

Almost gave up in the first chapter because the narration was so unbearable, such a poor choice. I was prepared for the book to be trash and as expected it certainly was trash - but I could forgive it for being a light and silly tale completely unworthy of associating itself with Charlotte Bronte’s masterpiece IF it weren’t for the frankly painful narration.
