Sometimes we shouldn’t meet our heroes

I was looking forward to this book but the more it went on the less I liked Nora Ephron. I’m sure she must have been nicer in person but she came across as a privileged snob and the New York in crowd quite a bore. I loved some of her films but her willingness to be so awfully judgemental about the women she went to school with just dreadful. The author is a true fan girl and repeats and repeats stories. Bet you Nora would have used the red pencil. liberally if she got the chance. Kinda wrecked Sleepless in Seattle. So story is rich privileged white girl uses her contacts, and her talent, to rise up the ranks of the film industry with a willingness to use whomever she feels like. Mah! Watch the films instead.

pooly written, and sounds like it's read by a robot

Nora ephron deserved much, much better from both her biographer and the person who reads the audio book. Prosaic and hackneyed. and the narrator sounds like a remedial reader.
