Publisher's Summary
Born in a prison and removed from his drug-dependent mother, rejection is all that 7-year-old Alex knows.
When Cathy is asked to foster little Alex, aged 7, her immediate reaction is: Why can’t he stay with his present carers for the last month? He’s already had many moves since coming into care as a toddler and he’ll only be with her a short while before he goes to live with his permanent adoptive family. But the present carers are expecting a baby and the foster mother isn’t coping, so Alex goes to live with Cathy.
He settles easily and is very much looking forward to having a forever family of his own. The introductions and move to his adoptive family go well. But Alex is only with them for a week when problems begin. What happens next is both shocking and upsetting, and calls into question the whole adoption process.

Another great boom
I can't say enough how much I love these books by Cathy Glass, I often come to tears in my car as I'm listening on my drive and although I've read and listened to atleast 15 of Cathy's books It never ceases to amaze me how beautiful a person she is.
I will continue to read and listen to these stories until I've none left and I'm hoping that is a long way off.
I'm very pickh with the readers of the audio books I read and although it took me a.littke while to get used to her I now believe that the narrators voice and style of reading is perfect fit for Cathy's books.
my next read is ready to go "cruel to be kind" again Cathy
Glass.

Seriously!
Cathy I do not know how you do it! Absolutely unbelievable! Alex's adoptive parents who gave up after two weeks should feel ashamed of themselves. I was glad he found his forever home and was so pleased to read his update on the website.

Sleepless Nights
Amazing story of a darling little boy who had such a hard start in life and let downs by social workers, foster cares and adoptive parents. Cathy you are such a warm and loving person, thank you for sharing your stories. Thank you Denica for such a pleasant narration. I listened to this book in 3 days, mainly at night and couldn’t go to sleep until I heard more every night and than little bit more .....totally addicted!

Not for me
A interesting enough story, I didn't find it hard to listen to but it wasn't exciting and I wasn't rushing right back to listen to it. I found I was intrigued to see what happened

Disappointed not like her other novels
I love Cathy glass all her books except this one was boring too much about meetings and the adoptive parents and very little about her day to day work with the boy and his past. For Cathy glass readers I’d say skip this one and the other one called a long way from home which was similar to this one with half the book written by the parents not Cathy so it feels like a very unsatisfying half book from Cathy this one was similar I felt like I missed out on a Cathy glass book by getting this one
