كانت "داربي ثورن" على بعد ستة أميال من المخرج من الطريق الجبلي السريع حين انكسرت مساحة الزجاج الأمامي الخاصّة بها..

ضغطت زرّ الراديو، لا شيء الآن سوى شوشرة، شاهدت المساحة الأمامية اليسرى ترفرف مثل معصمٍ مكسور، فكرت أن تقف جانبًا لكي تصلحها بالشريط اللاصق، لكن لا يوجد مكان يصلح للتوقف على الطريق السريع، فقط تلالٌ من الثلوج القذرة تحيط بجانبي الطريق يمينًا ويسارًا...

هكذا بدأت الحكاية إذن فبعدما تلقّت داربي رسالة مستعجلة مفادها أنّ أمها تحتضر في ولاية أخرى قررت السفر بسيارتها لكنَّ العاصفة الثلجية تجعل استكمال الطريق أمرًا مستحيلًا.

تلجأ داربي لأول استراحة تقابلها لتلتقي هناك بأربعة أشخاص يواجهون نفس المشكلة...وفي محاولتها لإيجاد تغطية لشبكة الهاتف تجد بداخل سيارة أحدهم طفلة محبوسة في قفص كلب وبحالةٍ سيئة جدًا!!

فمن هو صاحب السيارة من الأشخاص الأربعة؟ ولماذا خطف الطفلة؟

كيف ستتصرّف داربي وحدها فلا أمل في مساعدةٍ خارجية؟

لقد حبستها العاصفة معهم جميعًا في نفس المكان والخف شريكهم فهل من نجاةٍ في هذه الليلة الطويلة؟!
