About this listen
DCI Warren Jones has a bad feeling when the body of a young woman turns up in Beaconsfield Woods. She’s been raped and strangled but the murderer has been careful to leave no DNA evidence.
There are, of course, suspects – boyfriend, father – to check out but, worryingly, it looks more and more like a stranger murder.
Warren’s worst fears are confirmed when another young woman is killed in the same way.
The MO fits that of Richard Cameron who served twelve years for rape. But Cameron never killed his victims and he has a cast-iron alibi.
Then personal tragedy intervenes and Warren is off the case. But the pressure is mounting and another woman goes missing. Warren is back but will the break he desperately needs come before there’s another victim?

I’m not sure why this story isn’t better Its not very exciting but one can listen to it while watching tv. No that’s a fib but you can listen while thinking even so I’m going to listen to the next one and hope.

Nevertheless
The author liked using 'nevertheless' or 'however' so frequently that I was becoming irritated by the number of times they were used. Nevertheless I persevered.

Second time
I love this series so much that when the last book was released I decided to re-listen. I read the first series. I’m glad I did, I’m enjoying it all over again. And thankfully my memory is that bad I actually forgot a lot of it. All though of course I realised the murderer earlier but the first time I didn’t. My only complaint is that the author takes too long between books. I forgive him though because they are well worth the wait.
