About this listen

Trump, as extreme as he is, is less an aberration than a logical conclusion - a pastiche of pretty much all the worst and most dangerous trends of the past half century. A one-man megabrand, with wife and children as spin-off brands...

Remember when it all seemed to be getting better? Before Trump happened? Naomi Klein, internationally acclaimed journalist, activist and best-selling author, shows us how we got to this surreal and dangerous place, how to stop it getting a lot worse, and how, if we keep our heads, we can make things better.

No Is Not Enough reveals, among other things, how Trump's election was not a peaceful transition but a corporate takeover, one using deliberate shock tactics to generate wave after wave of crises and force through radical policies that will destroy people, the environment, the economy and national security.

This audiobook is the tool kit for shock resistance, showing all of us how we can break Trump's spell and win the world we need. Don't let them get away with it.

Interesting read. Enjoyable.

A great overview of what happens with politics again and again. An important read, so we don't fall for the same old tricks all of the time. Good for people to see through what is happening today.

Powerful, inspiring and good factual examples

This version doesn’t include the LEAP manifesto (or whatever it’s called) which is mentioned as ‘at the end of this book’ which is a bit annoying.
The book is a lot shorter than other books by Naomi Klein and less bogged down with specific details.
As an Australian, it gave me insight into what is going on in the USA and the wider world - it’s not only about USA. I found it thought provoking and at times difficult to listen to because the content is so intense. We really are at a time when change is urgently needed. However, it is inspiring because she has clear ideas about how to do this.
Highly recommended

Try reading the published version

Overall this was a great book. The voice was extremely horribly distracting with a “Mr Grey will see you now” tone of a romance novel but the content was informative. I recommend a published version.

important book

Really recommend this one - it highlights the importance of not just rejecting trump but social justice groups working on a range of important issues coming together and actually proposing the world we want and how we'll get there.

A fascinating listen for anyone who is losing hope

This book is a must for any person who is struggling with what we can do as a society to move forward from the social, economic, and environmental issues facing our society. Klein brilliantly addresses the interconnectedness of these issues and puts forward a powerful manifesto for meaningful change. Brit Marlin reads the book wondeefully. I can't wait to read more of Klein's works.

Someone finally has some answers

Ditch the politicians, Naomi for leader of the world. Her vision of society supports the vulnerable, scuppers the greedy and could finally reverse some of the damage we are doing to our planet. People need to sit up and listen, ditch the brainwashing of the media controlled by those seeking to advance their own interests and say yes to a new and bright future. Engaging and insightful, she eloquently informs us of how we got to where we are today, her path forwards is the best plan I've heard. Read and share.
