About this listen

What happens when the number-one college hockey star in the country falls in love - with a man?

Nick Johnson, a top prospect for a pro hockey team, has a secret: He’s gay. Tired of living in the closet for the sport he loves, he sees no way out.

Jacob Meyer’s string of bad boyfriends left him cynical about love. Instead, he focuses on his studies as a third-year law student. With a new job waiting for him, he’s eager to graduate and move on.

On a school-sponsored trip, Nick and Jacob meet in a most unexpected way. When Nick tells Jacob his secret, they decide to hang out, just as friends. But their attraction is too strong to ignore, and they soon begin dating.

Since Nick is a big man on campus, it doesn’t take long for people to notice his attachment to Jacob. All hell breaks loose when the relationship gets out. As the national media descends, university officials try to figure out how to solve their “problem”.

Their efforts divide Nick’s team, inflame fans, and put Nick and Jacob’s futures in jeopardy. Will the men be able to survive a plot to destroy them without derailing both their careers?

Nice Catching You is an out-for-you romance featuring a lot of love, exciting hockey, and a beautiful holiday. There’s also plenty of steam and a very happy ending.

So great

This story started a sweet college romance but the undercurrent of homophobia around the MCs made it somewhat of a thriller. Very good writing and excellent narration from Russo. Well worth a read.

absolutely loved this book!

I am so glad I found this book and these authors. I absolutely love a book where they stick it out the entire story. Nick is just such a loveable character. Huge grin, little giggles and kicking my feet with this one.

Sweet, optimistic, low-angst.

The story was really sweet. The characters were great. I LOVED the team so much. And the last third of the book in particular was fantastic! There's a real youthful, young-love feel to this story, and the optimism matches that well, making the whole story really... sweet. I don't read many sweet books, but I enjoyed this one.

Oh, and the Excalibur thing was hilarious!

As for Nick's performance, it was great. A little over-dramatized at times, but still wonderful. It was really easy to tell the characters apart, and easy to discern between narration and dialogue (which is something very, very few narrators can pull off). Great job.

(On a personal note: I love that this book was written by a married couple!)

Nice catching you Jacob!

When Nick Johnson and Jacob Meyer met that was the end of their single life , neither knew what life had in store for them .
The book is extremely well written , it’s easy to read , the story flows , as I mentioned, very well written.
A story about truth, believing in yourself and in the values you highly hold .
The audiobook is stunning, the journey that Ryan Taylor and Josh Harwood took the reader / listener on in quite amazing.
I cannot recommend this audiobook enough, with talented narration by Nick J Russo where can one go wrong.
Superb …..

Too immature for me to enjoy

Closeted captain of the hockey team Nick Johnson falls for third-year law student Jacob Myers. I love sports romances but I found the characters too immature and inconsistent with no depth - they seemed more like high schoolers than college students. I tried but DNF@15%.
