Take your Japanese to the next level and further your fluency with Paul’s simple, relaxed approach and learn in a way that suits you – without having to memorise long lists of words you won’t use; scribbling notes as you listen; or feeling frustrated.
Instead, Paul will help you to you build on your existing Japanese knowledge and guide you through 12 hours of essential tenses and grammar that you need to independently construct sentences and feel confident speaking Japanese in a variety of scenarios. Just listen, interact, and learn wherever you are. This course also contains a handy downloadable booklet to help you revise and reinforce your learning.
Next Steps is an intermediate course, for non-beginners, which follows on from the Learn Japanese with Paul Noble for Beginners – Complete Course.
Paul Noble left school unable to speak a language – having found that the traditional learning methods left him feeling ‘confused, incapable and unable to really say anything’. Determined that there must be a better way to learn, Paul spent years devising his own unique method of learning languages which cuts out all the grammar, all the memorisation, and all the stress. He began using his method to teach in his Language Institute and, thousands of students later, he prides himself on never having had a student fail.
To continue your language learning journey once you’ve completed this course, download Learn with Paul Noble Complete courses in a variety of languages: Spanish, French, Italian, German and Mandarin Chinese.

clear and concise instructions. excellent foundation
while some of the content is a bit childish, it gives an excellent understanding of how Japanese sentences are constructed. Limited vocabulary examples, but overall a very good tutorial for people starting to learn the language.

Foundational learning.
I wish this book continued for another 8 hours. It is honestly, the best friend I had in learning Japanese. I am constantly complimented on my Japanese language skills when visiting Japan, and I attribute 90% of it to this book.

A great, helpful start to learning basic Japanese
I found this guide and his previous one really easy to follow, engaging and simple enough to feel that you are making good progress. The companion pdf is very helpful also. I really love the idea of learning by listening, it means you don’t put too much pressure on yourself to learn the spelling of things, but rather focus on the sounds which is how kids learn, and the spelling can come later. Really helpful and I totally recommend this audio book.

His learning method is focusing a change of tense.
I enjoyed this book, because to me how to change tense is important. I can learn vocabulary elsewhere, but a lot of other books don’t teach change of tense as systematically as Paul did. Although to me, I find the entire couse could be shortened, as he included a lot of reviews. But I guess it’s a way of learning a new language. I recommend this book.

best foundational Japanese course
This and the preceding course really helped me in my understanding of and fluency in speaking Japanese. There’s a lot out there and I also do Duolingo, but I would consider this course foundational.

Fantastic sequel to first first book - chronology mistakes are very poor
Chapters 45 & 46 are clearly the wrong way around. This hasn't been proof-listened properly. The actual content, however, is excellent (if you're happy to get confused as hell then have to jump around trying to find the right chapter that actually teaches the concept which is supposed to be before the ones asking you to recall it)
