About this listen
Your nervous system is you. All the thoughts, perceptions, moods, passions, and dreams that make you an active, sentient being are the work of this amazing network of cells. For many centuries, people knew this was true. But no one was sure how it happened. Now, thanks to the exciting new field of neuroscience, we can chart the workings of the brain and the rest of the nervous system in remarkable detail to explain how neurons, synapses, neurotransmitters, and other biological processes produce all the experiences of everyday life, in every stage of life.
From the spectacular growth of the brain in infancy to the act of learning a skill, falling in love, getting a joke, revising an opinion, or even forgetting a name, something very intriguing is going on behind the scenes.

Very informative and well presented
As someone interested in neuroscience, I found this lecture series fascinating.
It explained complex topics in a concise and digestible manner.
I would recommends this.

Impressive
An extremely wide and deep subject - there is a need for a second read to pick up what the brain left behind the first time. Sam Wang's knowledge is impressive.

Could have been so much better.
I listened to this work expecting lots of interesting information on neuroscience. I have a BSc major in biology so was expecting a reasonable amount of detail. I was disappointed. Professor Sam Wang's reading style made the content difficult to understand. With more attention to intonation he could have made the listening experience so much better. If you're interested in a general overview of neuroscience this is fine. If you're looking for a deeper exploration of the field I feel that, like me, you'll be left wanting more.

ADHD goes away?
Started out interesting, but when he went into effects of dopamine and amphetamines on the brain and that he wouldn’t give Ritalin to kids because ADHD will disappear in adulthood I had to stop. As someone who was diagnosed as an adult and whose life has been greatly improved by medication I hate the misinformation that courses like this spread.
