About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

NO GREATER FRIEND
Evan Smoak is the guy you want on your side. A former government black ops assassin, he'll be there for you in your darkest hour - and he'll rain hell and thunder on those who caused your pain.

NO WORSE ENEMY
A lone wolf operator, Evan can't afford to lose any of the few people he likes and trusts. But when Tommy Stojack, Evan's loyal, long-time gunsmith and armourer, betrays him, it's war.

Because a good assassin keeps his friends close, but his weapons closer . . .

The morality of a killer and the lack of trust in his friends/ associates

I’m still undecided about this book, it’s taken a few days to write this review.
Not sure I want to hear Evan second guess his decisions and the people in his life, I’ve come to expect him to fight the evil in the world, not his friends.
Hopefully in time I will be able to digest the book but at this stage I’m undecided

Another fantastic instalment of Orphan X. Narrated excellently as always. I will wait with eager patience for the next in the series.

worth the wait

probably one of my favorite orphan books.
had a rear glimpse of the other side when X decides you're taking up too much room. The extended Tommy story was brilliant. loved it.

a challenging plot device

while I understand the need to dig further in the humanising of Evan I feel the reason for most of the tension throughout the book was based on a cheap plot device. it irked me all the way through knowing it was a plot device which would eventually be played out in exactly the same way as it has been done countless times before in movies.

Elated and devastated all at the same time

Another fantastic book that I will listen to many more times as with the whole series. The constant push and pull in this book had me in a constant state of anxiety but I was holding out hope that the friendship would last. To get Tommy's point of view was brilliant and you just can't choose sides in this.... I really hope this isn't the last book.

Wow, just wow

This was definitely Evan and Tommy’s story, though the rest of the cast is in there.
Don’t want to do spoilers, it was a really good story, between a rock and a hard place. Wow
