About this listen

After the horrors of Istvaan V, Horus declares outright war against the Imperium. In the shadows of the Emperor's Palace, powerful figures convene.

Their plan is to send a team of assassins to execute the arch-traitor Horus and end the war for the galaxy of mankind before it's even begun. But what they cannot know is that another assassin is abroad already, with his sights firmly set on killing the Emperor.

excellent

An awesome look into the origins of the Officio Assassinorum that stretches from the deepest parts of the Imperial palace to the command room of the Vengeful Spirit

Worth listening to

A good tale on your way through the HH series. Lays out the different Clades of the O.A nicely and you get to hear from the Big E and the Archtraitor. Voice acting is solid. Wouldn't skip it

Do not skip

It builds, builds, builds and bloodily climaxes. Voice narration lacks, you’ll know when you hear it

Another epic!!

Another great addition to the Horus heresy. Expands the scope of the Horus heresy events a bit but it’s great caste of unique characters all feel alive and the dialogue is perfect without being overly cliche. The narration was amazing and every inflexion was on point. A great read and memorable book.

Murderous Sci-fi Ocean's Eleven

This was surprisingly good, like a murderous ocean's eleven where the goal is murder instead of stealing. Would make a great film, it's all going on around the edges of the Horus heresy stuff which I haven't read yet but now want to. Pretty much all the main characters are disposable pawns and pretty fleshed out characters for the most part. Was interesting seeing what role the different assassination guilds held in the Warhammer 40k world. Solid 8/10

Fantastic

Nemesis was always one of my favourite HH stories, and Jon Keeble is fast becoming one of my favourite readers!

Background Knowledge

Picks up in part 2, part 1 is more background about the different assassin temples. Great narration as usual. Part 2 was definitely a good story with lore filler. Can skip this one if desired however as it has minimal to no impact on the greater heresy.
