In the early 1930s, Nancy Wake was a young woman enjoying a bohemian life in Paris. By the end of the Second World War, she was the Gestapo's most wanted person. As a naive, young journalist, Nancy Wake witnessed a horrific scene of Nazi violence in a Viennese street. From that moment, she declared that she would do everything in her power to rid Europe of the Nazis.
What began as a courier job here and there became a highly successful escape network for Allied soldiers, perfectly camouflaged by Nancy's high-society life in Marseille. Her network was soon so successful – and so notorious – that she was forced to flee France to escape the Gestapo, who had dubbed her 'the white mouse' for her knack of slipping through its traps. Cracking story
Narrator doesn't match how a Peter Fitzsimons book goes in my head. Story is fabulous though.

What a cracking story!

Such a well told story combining Nancy's life, the history of war and close encounters. Stephanie Daniels French and German sounded really authentic and added to the scenes. I was hooked from beginning to end. Highly recommend this audible book!

An incredible story
Nancy Wake’s story almost defies belief. What an amazing, gutsy woman she was. This story had me hooked from a few minutes in. The narration was a little tiresome at times with some words repeated three times for what purpose I wasn’t sure?! (I didn’t feel like it added to the story telling at all). Overall an amazing story of one truly heroic woman.

one sided dribble thanks wanker
yet another book with a one sided view on how evil the Germans were in ww2 . I can't tell you what a load of crap the French should have been wiped out such a shit race of people

A wonderful story of a true war heroine.
This is a fabulous story of a wonderful Australian. This should be on our English reading list for our high schools if it isn't already. It's one of those books that you can't stop thinking about for a very long time after it's finished. You feel sad at the end that the story is over and how can you give yourself to another book straight away when you are still so emotionally involved with this journey. One of my favorite stories.

A well written account of an exceptional woman
Having read Nancy Wake’s autobiography which I thought was rather flippant, it was good to read a well written and well researched book about an exceptional woman.
