Epic worth listening to
Narrator brought feeling and attention to every myth. Pronunciation was impressive over so many different mythologies and the care taken was obvious.

Yes! Yes! Wait what?
I can’t get passed “got with her” is later “rape”. The language used here… I literally couldn’t get passed it to the rest of the book. These are stories that have survived eons… and we are still such adolescents that we must mince our words in order to digest their actual meaning? This for me colours the whole work with a hue of irritation, purchased to learn but couldn’t get passed the teenage boy script and language.

rough to listen to
not only is there a butchering of the names and places, it reads/listens like it's a chat gpt essay on myths from different cultures. in the Greek mythology section alone there's so much historical inaccuracies and repetition.

Not a good experience
The writing and even the language was deplorable - I have never before experienced the wonderful mythological stories reduced to this level of trite.
There seems to have been no attempt to learn the correct pronunciations of the characters named (I am referring here to the Hindu mythology, with which I am intimately conversant). This is not surprising when the writings were already replete with factual errors!
Overall, a total waste of time.

so dry
I don't know if it's the narrator or the writing or both but this makes fascinating characters and stories so dry. I couldn't even get through the Greek section. there's no detail and no passion. it feels very textbooky
