Publisher's Summary

It's strange. Lately, I have been questioning my identity. I used to think I knew who I was, but now I am not so sure. I gave myself time to be energized. It seems as though I am at full power, yet I am not sure if I am functioning properly. Everyone who I ever have known is gone. Their lives are either not measuring up to normal parameters, or they have left the planet.

Unless you're an artificial, you can not tolerate the cold. The Earth is now enveloped in more than 7,000 feet of ice. Hey, that's a lot of ice, even for me. I am among a select few, that's why I am still operating efficiently.

Chapter one

In my measurement of time, it is 7,188 many years after the changes. The planet could no longer absorb carbon. The various carcinogens and pollutants changed the equilibrium of the planet. Even a Unity Government could not move fast enough to stop the changes that were inevitable.

I was one of the select few. My essence, the elements that made me who I am, were transferred to this titanium structure. I have the physical existence of an android with the mental abilities of a human. Let me rephrase that my mental capacity and memory storage is far more than a million creatures known as Homo erectus. But supposedly, I am still human, with all the characteristics that were attributed to that species.

My emotions have not changed, and I remember every aspect of my life. I still can see my mother picking me up and kissing me when I was a little boy. I can still sense the smell of the perfume my mom loved to wear. The jasmine envelops the area around me as she laughs and tickles me and gives me a big kiss.

I still have maintained my humanity even though my body is long gone. My memory has not always been reliable. I suspect I require some type of maintenance. But there is no one here, and my diagnostics are not doing the job. I need to find someone who can make some type of repairs to my biologistics if not my existence may be in doubt.

Where do I start? Which Earth colony has the expertise to make the proper repairs?
