An old classic a must for horse lovers

This has a,ways been promoted as a kids book.
The whole Flicka trilogy is a complex story of life with the horses a central part.
Mary o hara has a deep understanding of both.
Don’t let the kid tag put you off it’s a very strong story of the life of a dreamer and his love of a horse

A childhood favourite

Wonderful to listen to a classic tale of horse and boy. So much more to absorb as an adult. Worth every minute. As a child I didn't understand the family dynamics. A strange relationship between the parents. A father who is a hard disciplinarian and an older brother who is horrid. Still, I loved the horse and boy growing together.

Breathtaking

My father first read this to me when I was about 8
A condensed novel, over 50 years later I still absolutely love this book
These people and horses are still so real to me 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
