Yet, despite his great successes and achievements, Dick has remained down to earth and close to his roots.
So how did the young boy who was one of the most academically hopeless in class become the national living treasure he is today? And what was it within that kid with a speech impediment that allowed him to create three successful businesses and take on some of the world's greatest and most dangerous aviation challenges?
In My Adventurous Life, Dick shares his inspiring story and the lessons he's learned about staying true to yourself. He has welcomed the freedoms that wealth brings but has found the simple life more fulfilling. His responsibility is to the world and the people we share it with.

Inspiring
Dick makes no secret his fortune helped him achieve many things. But those achievements took guts, calculated risks, planning and having set indicators to say this is enough. His passion for Australia is commended amongst many other things.

What A Life!
I really knew very little about this fellow but liked the idea of hearing about adventure. Aside from his narration which is not his forte, I was captivated by his unassuming character yet incredible guts and determination. He is a force for good and I come away with great admiration for this Australian. He has done so many wonderful things and created so much in his life. Well done Mr Smith and long may you continue to inspire. Needless to say, I enjoyed this book greatly!

Great Australian
As an Australian born in 1980 I was unaware of most of Dick Smiths accomplishments, what an absolute role model an inspiration. Great listen!

A Life worth listening to
I really enjoyed the simple approach to life and it’s priorities that Dick was able to bring to this book. His even handed , fair and caring focus on making Australia and Australians better off. A bit of a beacon on what is possible.

Eye-opening and inspiring
