Big disappointment
A disappointment. Far too superficial and rushed. I was hoping for far more background into the development of musical styles over time, the changing voicings and relationships to instruments of the day. Instead each chapter is superficial and a regurgitation of a few basic facts and some unsubstantiated emotional nonsense. This is what I might expect from a high school essay. The narration is stiff and rushed. With the exception of the chapter on prehistory and music which expands with some interest there is little here to recommend.
