About this listen

Return to New York Times best-selling author Anne Bishop’s "phenomenal" (Urban Fantasy Investigations) world of the Others - where supernatural entities and humans struggle to co-exist, and one woman has begun to change all the rules.…

After winning the trust of the terra indigene residing in the Lakeside Courtyard, Meg Corbyn has had trouble figuring out what it means to live among them. As a human, Meg should be barely tolerated prey, but her abilities as a cassandra sangue make her something more.

The appearance of two addictive drugs has sparked violence between the humans and the Others, resulting in the murder of both species in nearby cities. So when Meg has a dream about blood and black feathers in the snow, Simon Wolfgard - Lakeside’s shape-shifting leader - wonders if their blood prophet dreamed of a past attack or a future threat.

As the urge to speak prophecies strikes Meg more frequently, trouble finds its way inside the Courtyard. Now, the Others and the handful of humans residing there must work together to stop the man bent on reclaiming their blood prophet - and stop the danger that threatens to destroy them all.

Great second book in the series

Great narration, great story, great fantasy world. Well executed with the author gripping the reader further into their imaginary world. Thoroughly enjoyed it

great second

Same as the first book - amazing World building, interesting story, likeable characters and very amateurish narration.
It is more like someone reading outloud from unfamiliar material than a professional voice actor performing. Punctuation matters!

Can not get enough

I love these books, at first I was a bit disturbed by the cutting. But I love the characters so much, and the bunny jokes don't get old. I can see myself listening to these books over and over again. I just wish they had been released in order. I also found the choice of narrator excellent she was easy to listen to and she handled the variety of characters superbly.

Enjoyable, easy listening

Love these books. I really like the premise. I started the audible because I had a book craving but couldn’t access the books during lockdown. I’m really enjoying listening to them. It’s like a chick flick, but booky. Kind of a comfort read.

***Murder of crows***

It's another winner from Anne Bishop. I didn't think it's as good as the first one but they never are. This Time Meg has settled in the lakeside community with the others and still has the compulsion to cut herself. The hint of a romance between Simon and Meg is intriguing and I do hope that it will develop further. Alexandra Harris is excellent as always.
