Publisher's Summary
Who do you trust when simply everyone is wearing a mask?
A winter wedding. Venice, 1923. Posie Parker, London’s premier female private detective, is getting married. But on arrival in Venice, Posie finds she is walking into a nightmare. Her lodgings on the Grand Canal are consumed by fire, her famous fiancé is preoccupied, and most bizarrely of all, her hostess, the Countess Romagnoli, confesses she has a stalker and fears for her life.
Tasked with protecting the countess, Posie investigates the other house guests and finds that there are disguises everywhere. And when a terrible murder is committed, with the prospect of the killer striking yet again, Posie realizes she must separate out the shadows of the past and the realities of the present in order to uncover the murderer before it is too late.
In her most dangerous case yet, Posie works alongside both familiar and new colleagues in order to get at the truth. But will the truth come at a terrible price?
This is a classic golden age of crime murder mystery which will appeal to fans of Agatha Christie and Downton Abbey. Murder in Venice is the sixth book in the Posie Parker Mystery Series, although the novel can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. If you love an action-packed 1920s historical cozy crime with a feisty protagonist, get the audiobook now.

Loved the world but story seemed rushed
I really enjoyed the story and world up until the ending which felt like a rushed attempt to end the book series. At lack of critical thinking that Posie showed in some parts of the book was not consistent in the other books.
In the end I was left disappointed with the rushed finish and by a number of the deaths.

What a thriller
If you are going to listen or read this book may I suggest you start with book 1. I found myself running through a gamit of emotions, yelling "who", a lot. It was fast and thrilling, fun, happy and sad. I loved every minute of this book.

Long long not another silly cliffhanger posing as thrilling
Peppered with tiresome cliffhangers, that could have been dealt with in a concise sentence, and the seeding of information that lead nowhere.
Easy enough in the ears if you can get past the repeated descriptions and phrases that i could have tolerated if not for the painful plot thickeners described earlier. Way too long with annoying writing tricks to extend a disjointed story.
Sorry I can’t recommend this tiresome heroine and as for the final chapter you have got to be frigging kidding me. Note to self: Never buy a posey nonsense again
