Publisher's Summary
Hailed as “queen of the cozy police procedural” (Publishers Weekly), USA Today bestselling author Carlene O’Connor returns to County Cork in Ireland’s lush countryside, where locals are simmering with excitement over the reality TV baking contest coming to town—until someone serves up a show-stopping murder that only Garda Siobhan O’Sullivan can solve.
In Kilbane, opinions are plentiful and rarely in alignment. But there’s one thing everyone does agree on—the bakery in the old flour mill, just outside town, is the best in County Cork, well worth the short drive and the long lines. No wonder they’re about to be featured on a reality baking show. All six contestants in the show are coming to Kilbane to participate, and the town is simmering with excitement. Aside from munching on free samples, the locals—including Siobhan—get a chance to appear in the opening shots.
As for the competitors themselves, not all are as sweet as their confections. There are shenanigans on the first day of filming that put everyone on edge, but that’s nothing compared to day two, when the first round ends and the top contestant is found face-down in her signature pie.
The producers decide to continue filming while Siobhan and her husband, Garda Macdara Flannery, sift through the suspects. Was this a case of rivalry turned lethal, or are their other motives hidden in the mix? And can they uncover the truth before another baker is eliminated—permanently?

Excellent series
I have read / listened to all the books so far, and beyond the murder mystery I love the main characters and the O’Sullivan family. It is so enjoyable to read. The narrator is excellent!😊💕

Another Cosy Story
I enjoyed this latest book in the series. Some of the actions by the characters are a little improbable, but it does not detract from the storyline. As always, the narration by Caroline Lennon was outstanding

Too cute!
I have loved this series of books until now. The marriage of the 2 main characters has caused them to lose their professionalism. They seem more interested in food and silly banter when they should be solving the crime. Not your best work Carlene!

A disappointment
I have really enjoyed this series to date but this book is so disappointing. There is suspending belief and then there is just plain ridiculousness. I agree with other reviewers, it’s not the quantity of one’s work but the quality and this story lacks quality.

Don’t Bother
I have read all the books in this series and enjoyed them, but this one is absolutely boring. 4.5 hours in and the reader has spent most of that time listening to two characters and a very humdrum storyline that is pretty much based in one room. What was Carlene O’Connor thinking when she wrote this? Please Carlene take a restful break, find your mojo again and give us something worthy of your talents as an author. it’s the publisher who should be taken to task for printing this well below par read. Come on guys - support your authors don’t pressure them to produce a book- any book - resulting in readers being short changed and disappointed.
