Publisher's Summary
Welcome to The McMasters Conservatory for the Applied Arts - a luxurious, clandestine college dedicated to the fine art of murder where earnest students study how best to "delete" their most deserving victim.
Who hasn't wondered for a split second what the world would be like the object of your affliction ceased to exist? But then you've probably never heard of The McMasters Conservatory, dedicated to the consummate execution of the homicidal arts. To gain admission, a student must have an ethical reason for erasing someone who deeply deserves a fate no worse (nor better) than death.
The campus of this "Poison Ivy League" college-its location unknown to even those who study there-is where you might find yourself the practice target of a classmate...and where one's mandatory graduation thesis is getting away with the perfect murder of someone whose death will make the world a much better place to live.
Prepare for an education you'll never forget. A delightful mix of witty wordplay, breathtaking twists and genuine intrigue, Murder Your Employer will gain you admission into a wholly original world, cocooned within the most entertaining audiobook about well-intentioned would-be murderers you'll ever hear.
Critic Reviews
"A case study in the droll amusements of homicide, Rupert Holmes's send-up of higher education and even higher crimes and misdemeanors will keep you up at night." (Gregory Maguire, author of Wicked)
"With dry humor and an eye for hidden clues, Rupert Holmes imagines a secret Hogwarts-like school that teaches the fine art of pulling off the perfect (and perfectly deserved) murder...utterly creative and deliciously diabolical." (Alafair Burke, New York Times bestselling author)
"A college with a degree in Homicide? Only Rupert Holmes could make murder laugh-out-loud funny. This book isn't clever-it's fiendishly clever. And the twists and tricks and endless surprises make me want to sign up for another semester!" (R.L. Stine, author of Goosebumps and Fear Street)

A premeditated good time and deadly humorous
I tried this book on Impulse a read of passion, based on the appeal of its cover and it is more fun than it has any right to be. I am glad I had the audible credit because otherwise id have been giggling away reading the hardcover on the bus.

Best read of 2023 so far
Hilarious, witty and truly devious! The performance from both narrators was phenomenal, and every time I thought I knew what would happen next, another twist! 10/10

What a total delight!
This is a really interesting concept for a book so it takes a bit of time to get your head into it so keep going! Also, when the story starts to cover the other two characters don’t panic, they are just as interesting as following Cliff. Totally gutted that this was published so recently and there wasn’t a 2nd book to jump straight into. It was so good I would have paid for the next book with $$ rather than waiting just a few days for a new credit.

I’m still not sure how I feel about this book
There are highlights for sure…. I loved finding out the identity of “X”. However the pun filled writing got repetitive, and the further along I read, the more it irritated. A genuinely intriguing environment , but I’m just not sure about the “ endings”

Delightful and whimsical
I am used to reading murder mysteries so this is a bit of a change. I fell in love with the whimsical writing style and the stereotypical British storytelling. It was very interesting to look at murder from the perspective of the killer.

Great narrators disappointing story
The story itself is disappointing. Two narrators are great I wouldn’t be able to finish the book if it wasn’t the audiobook. All credits to the narrator.

catchy title
Neil Patrick Harris was entertaining to listen to and I was engaged in his character. The story was interesting for the most part, but a few times it seemed to drag on a bit.
