About this listen
A murder at her beloved Sandringham House threatens to ruin Christmas for the Queen in the third mystery in the Her Majesty the Queen Investigates series.
December 2016 - A severed hand is found washed up on a beach next to the Queen's estate at Sandringham.
Elizabeth has become quite accustomed to solving even the most complex of murders. And though she quickly identifies the 70-year-old victim, Edward St Cyr, from his signet ring, the search for his killer is not so straightforward.
St Cyr led an unconventional, often controversial life, making many enemies along the way in the quiet, rural world of North Norfolk, where everyone knows each other's business.
But when a second man is found dead, and a prominent local woman is nearly killed in a hit-and-run, the mystery takes an even darker turn.
With the Christmas break coming to an end, the Queen and her trusted assistant Rozie must race to discover how the pieces of the puzzle fit together. Or the next victim may be found even closer to home.

This series just keeps on getting better. Great fun, clever stories. The characters are so believable. Fabulous narration.

Another Brilliant Book
I have had all three of the books in this series and each is better than the last. Murder Most Royal has a clever, quite intricate plot, believable characters and dialogue. I am a big mystery reader and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Highly entertaining
I already feel bad for taking off a star for the story as the confusion about a character is probably my fault: falling in and out of sleep and not realising I've done it... but for me, there was some confusion about something that turned out to be crucial. So, at the big reveal, I was wondering how this person fitted in.
Still, a fun and entertaining read with lots of great characters and a good plot.
The narration was again faultless. Samantha Bond is absolutely brilliant.

Wisdom with smarts and Regal propriety
The narrator’s ability to take on the various characters and provide the convincingly useful hmmm responses of HRH seem very legitimate as a way to hold one’s own counsel. Tackles the contemporary issues of changing values and touches on aspects of the long held traditions as well whilst the Queen is dropped into the latest murder mystery via a grisly find. I’ve already pre ordered the upcoming “The Queen who came in from the Cold”.
