Publisher's Summary
Marks began to deal small amounts of hashish while doing a postgraduate philosophy course at Oxford, and soon he was moving much larger quantities into Europe and into America. The academic life began to lose its allure. At the height of his career, he was smuggling consignments of up to 50 tons from Pakistan and Thailand to America and Canada and had contact with organisations as diverse as MI6, the CIA, the IRA, and the Mafia. Numerous newspaper profiles, books, and television documentaries have been devoted to Howard Mark's life. Touched with humour, charm, and candour, Mr Nice is his own extraordinary story.

Not what I thought.
Hard to listen and follow. Unsure if it was the accent. Have seen alot of docos etc on Howard marks that were alot more enjoyable. Didn't seem to flow at all then comes to a sudden stop. I thought it still had more to go. So much better out there. Not a great reading for what in reality is a miraculous story

6.5/10
Accents are a bit off putting. Quite interesting but nothing special. 6.5 out of 10

Abridged version is waaaaay to short
Feels very rushed. Clearly a fascinating true story but characters introduced so quickly and glossed over it's hard to keep up.
Lots of key details about the smuggling and convictions remain unclear because of the concise nature of the way this is presented.

Dull and difficult to listen to.
The accent makes it really difficult to hear the story, and it seems repetitive with a series of drug deals in different countries…

InAudible
Completely inaudible due to the readers voice and the quality of recording. Shame as it’s meant to be a god story

Shortened and rushed
I read “Mr Nice” years ago and was both fascinated and blown away by the incredible story. This version seems to be shortened and rushed through? Not sure if it’s been heavily edited to make it more suitable but it’s definitely not what I remembered
